The Story

About Us

Founded by brothers Paul and David Burgess, our craft ale bar opened its doors in Stretford on  September 14th,2019. What began as a dream between two brothers has grown into a thriving local community bar. A place where people come together to enjoy great ales, discover new favorites, and celebrate the best of independent local brewing.

2019-2021

We opened our doors in 2019 with a simple passion to serve great craft beer in a welcoming, community focused space. It didn't take long for people to notice; we were honoured to be named 'Best Newcomer 2020' by CAMRA, a recognition that meant the world to us.

Just as things were taking off, the world stopped. Like so many others, we had to close our doors in March 2020. We reopened in July, eager to pour pints again and see familiar faces, only to shut down once more that October. But we didn't give up.

When we finally reopened for good in May 2021, it felt like a fresh start - a chance to bring people back together over the beers we love.

2021-Present

Things have only gone from strength to strength since 2021. We're incredibly proud to have been named CAMRA 'LocAle Pub of the Year' not once, but three times - in 2022, 2024 and 2025 - a true testament to our commitment to supporting local breweries across Greater Manchester. We've also earned a spot in the 'Good Beer Guide' for 2024, 2025 and now 2026, three years running!

It's been amazing to grow alongside our community here in the heart of the new Stretford town centre, which is thriving more than ever. As the area continues to evolve, we're proud to be part of it's story - pouring local ales, welcoming new faces, and keeping the craft beer spirit alive and well.

To all our amazing customers and loyal Stretford regulars - thank you for being with us every step of the way. Your support, laughter and love has carried us through the highs, the challenges and everything in between. From our first pint in 2019 to today, you've helped us grow into the heart of this brilliant community. Here's to you, to Stretford, and to many more years of good times and great ales.
